Can you point me in the right direction of which program to burn on a memory stick to override Windows 7 so that I can change the password? I forgot my password! My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5251. I would prefer to use a free and very safe download.

There is a Linux distribution in form of a ISO that can be burned to a CD or a USB stick to recover the password of your Windows 7 operating system. Download the ISO from the official website then use UNetbootin to create the USB stick. Once completed, insert the USB stick into a USB port and restart the computer. Boot from stick and wait until the desktop mode is enabled. The process is automatic. When the process is finished, the password will be shown on screen.
